- Sobre la obra de arteThis is a mixed-media painting by Theodorus Willebrordus Maria (Theo) Mackaay, a Dutch sculptor, painter, and musician who was born on 19 November 1950 in Utrecht. Between 1972 and 1976 he studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and from 1977 to 1979 he continued his education at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam.
From 1980 onward, he began his career as a professional painter and sculptor. His figurative work is inspired by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Marino Marini, and Ossip Zadkine. In the same year, he also designed the well-known sculpture the Golden Calf, the award presented annually at the Netherlands Film Festival.
Throughout his career, Mackaay has held various exhibitions both in the Netherlands and abroad, including Galerie Morren in Amsterdam (2015), the Carlton Hotel in Cannes (2015), and the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam (2016).

Theodorus Willebrordus Maria (Theo) Mackaay es un escultor, pintor y músico holandés que nació en Utrecht el 19 de noviembre de 1950. Entre 1972 y 1976 estudió en la Gerrit Rietveld Academie de Amsterdam y de 1977 a 1979 en la Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten en Amsterdam. Desde 1980 inició su carrera como pintor y escultor profesional. Su obra figurativa está inspirada en Pablo Picasso, Marino Marini y Ossip Zadkine.
En 1980 diseñó el Gouden Kalf, escultura premiada en el Dutch Filmfestival. Mackaay ha tenido varias exposiciones en los Países Bajos y en el extranjero, entre ellas Galerie Morren (Amsterdam, 2015), Carlton Hotel (Cannes, 2015), Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam (2016). Mackaay también es un músico que fue guitarrista y cantante en varias bandas.
