- Sobre el artistaCharles Sorlier fue un grabador francés. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial fue deportado a Pomerania. Después de que terminó la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Sorlier comenzó en el atelier de Fernand Mourlot en 1948, donde permaneció durante más de cuarenta años. Ayudó a muchos artistas famosos, como Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse y Fernand Léger. Su relación laboral más importante fue con Marc Chagall, se hicieron buenos amigos y trabajaron en estrecha colaboración. La producción de Charles Sorlier después de Marc Chagall es de muy alta calidad. La combinación de las muy hábiles técnicas de Sorlier y el estilo pictórico de Marc Chagall los convierte en una pareja de oro.
