    The painter Jan Voerman senior belonged to the group of 19th century artists called the 'Amsterdam impressionists'. His paintings, his watercolours in particular, are known for their sensitive atmosphere. This watercolour (signed lower right) is a good example of his widely acknowledged talent. Jan Voerman has his own museum in Hattum (Holland).

  • Sobre el artista
    Fue un pintor holandés y vivió en Hattem (Gelderland). Estaba casado con Anna Henriette Gezina Verkade (Anna) Verkade, hija de Ericus Gerhardus Verkade, fundador de la fábrica Verkade. Su hijo, Jan Voerman junior, también se convirtió en pintor. Voerman Sr es conocido por sus paisajes del río IJssel. En Hattem puedes encontrar el Museo Voerman con una colección de ambos pintores.
